Gary Cahill: Young England stars are playing without fear
Gary Cahill says the flood of bold youthful players into the England squad has made for an energizing mix of old and new for Euro 2016.
Talking in front of England's first Euro 2016 warm-up amusement with Turkey at Manchester City's Etihad stadium on Sunday, Cahill says he has been awed by the more youthful and less experienced individuals from the squad.
Any semblance of Marcus Rashford and Dele Alli, and in addition more established yet globally unpracticed players, for example, Jamie Vady and Danny Drinkwater, have all made their names in the Premier League this season.
Asked what he thought the approaching era of ability will convey to the table, Cahill said: "I think the blend that we have in the squad is great.
"The youthful chaps that have been playing have had an immense effect in the Premier League this season. They're playing without apprehension, and playing actually."
With 41 tops, Cahill falls into the "veteran" class in Roy Hodgson's squad. The Chelsea focus back is one of just four players to be named in introductory 26-man party that has amassed more than 40 tops.
"Obviously we have a couple of the more seasoned fellows in here, as well," he said. "Any semblance of myself, Joe Hart, [James] Milner, and Wayne [Rooney] clearly emerges also - so we have that "ear" to provide for the more youthful fellows, we can go on our recommendation and experience on the off chance that they require it.
I'm extremely energized. I know we are very brave players here, and from an England player and an England fan's perspective, it's a decent, energizing side."
On the back of their extraordinary Premier League crusades, Leicester and Tottenham supply seven players to the squad and Cahill says they will give the group certainty and conviction.
"Obviously everybody's circumstance leaving far from the season is distinctive, however when we meet up into the England squad, we have the same center," Cahill said. "In any case, those young men who've had extraordinary seasons will be brimming with certainty and that is awesome for us."
Britain have three warm-up friendlies in front of the principal bunch stage meeting with Russia on June 11. Hodgson must cut three from the 26 players and name his last 23 by May 31.
